Actually I don't have an issue with LeMond but I believe the best person to run cycling needs to have exceptional administrative abilities, as in an MBA or equivalent and a background in anti doping

Yes, I agree. I am not familiar with the inner workings of the UCI but I think they should split the business administrative and doping issues if possible. It is clear though that there were a major conflict of interest within the UCI.

Dude, this is prejudice talking. He has won the TdF. He has questioned the cheats. He has whined to no avail and incurred the wrath of people like you. Thats a lot more than most have done for the sport.

He also lost his business because he had the balls to speak his mind. That's quite a big price to pay for sticking to your morals.

You admire him and I don't ,live with that.

Prejudice has nothing to do with it if you read very carefully, his anti-Lance sentiments is not the reason I dislike him.

As for him losing his business, his bikes did not sell, nothing more ,nothing less.

Nothing to live with.

I don't admire him, dislike him, or feel strongly about him either way. Don't really care if he becomes the next Fat Pat or not. Just wish Pat and Hein would GO!

I was just curious as to your antipathy for the man. It's pretty strong for a personality thing because that's all it is, really. You don't KNOW that he doped. You dislike that he spoke out against someone you did/do still admire (like Joco) and he obviously irritates the K@K out of you. Cool.

I agree - anyone will be better than Fat Pat and Hein the wein !!

I don't like him. Cannot give a reason but I just don't dig the bloke.

I really don't care too much about the UCI president, cause I think their role is administrative of nature. I think the riders and team bosses are the ones that matter.

I think one spectacular win of a clean rider (like I hope Cancellara) does 50 times more to the image and public interest of cycling than the president of the UCI can do in a 4 year career.

Nothing to live with.

You are a real pretentious individual thinking I admire certain individuals, almost as sad as your approach towards the people you don't like or have had a negative attitude towards.

No one asks or interrogates you regarding your views, but you feel the need to judge other people, it's this kind of hypocritical attitude that has caused much irritation on this forum in the past.

If you don't like it and my psyche behind it, then don't ask me questions about it, if I personally bug you, feel free to pm. me.

Careful what you say there, the great TZ might judge you for it.

I never judged you, actually enjoy most of what you post.

I don't presume to tell you what to do or think either.

I was questioning your powerful emotional response to Le Mond.

You have attacked me and this last post of yours is churlish and childish.

You do not bug me. I will not pm you or enter a fight with you. There is no need.

Chill dude.

Where did I attack you ?

My last post was an attack, prior to that was me explaining to you why I don't like Le Mond, which in hindsight has f-all to do with you.

You proceeded to judge and make assumptions, so for the sake of all flies and lice on the horses back, I am done with you and left you in the same camp as Le Mond , kapish thumbup1.gif

I read LeMond is willing to be an interim UCI Prez until the long-term decision is made.

That's okay with me.

I wonder about who would be a good fit for the longer term.

Maybe Vaughters (visionary, astute, downside is he is a former doper.

Maybe Millar (not sure of his desire or his competence to lead an organisation; he can sure ride a bike, downside a former doper).

I dunno.

Change, please.
