Parcel at customs in country of destination

So how long do I have to wait before customs will release my goodies? Are they on a christmas go slow, or does it normally take a week to clear them normlly?

I want my goodies before christmas, if it is possible.

Theoretically it should be declared released by tomorrow. Maybe Monday or Tuesday. But then again it's Customs and they take as long as they take.

They usually take about 5 days ( working days)

Mine was Release very quick. Probably because i didn't have to wait in the queue, seeing as i'm also working for Customs ph34r.png clap.gif

I just received a parcel yesterday from Canada - it was sent on the 21 Dec 2012 - go figure.

At least I didn't pay any custom duties.

Sadly no. I was convinced it had been pilfered so was very surprised to find it in my postbox. Was joking with my mate, inside was a snow making kit that obtains white silica powder, some of it had leaked out as the packaging was crushed so maybe they thought it was cocaine or some other dangerous "mystery white powder"

:D - Well, I guess its better late than never, they could have held it if they thought it was suspicious, but usually if its opened for examination they reseal it with "Official Customs" imprinted tape.

Of course they may not have opened it but just held it for checking and it got sort of lost in the system, but I have found the Post Office is getting much more proactive now and sometimes I even get packages which have been resealed by the post office as they were badly packed to start with and opened on route, they also put a sticker on it saying it was resealed by them and a reference number so if there any queries later theres a paper trail.

I ordered goods from E-bay on 14 June, and unfortunately didn't see the speedpost option when checking out and paying for the item... it's now coming through the normal snail mail method...

And i'm still waiting...
