Bruce and other wise ones, I need some advice plz:

How much work should be done/not done in a rest week?

I've been on a 3 week build block finishing with a 20hr week yesterday. This week is rest week. The idea was to do 3 x 1hr30min sessions this week (easy spins) and 2 x 3hr sessions on the week (also easy).

Am I on the right track here or should I be doing more/less?

buff: sorry, I didn't see this thread.

I generally don't do rest weeks anymore.  I tend to feel worse after taking a whole week off than I did before the rest week.  I also generally don't do 20 hour training weeks either, which is probably why I don't need rest weeks.

As the good doctor says "It depends".  Post what your last 3 weeks training was, then maybe I can give a better answer than "It depends"

Hi Bruce, thx for the feedback. I had no choice but to rest, my body was going into total lockdown LOL. btw, this is training for the Epic, not league rides.

Training schedule (last week), built up to this by adding 10% per week for the past 3 weeks:

Mon am: 30m run

Tues pm: 2h15m Hill work

Wed am: 45m run

        pm: 2h15m Tempo ride

Thurs pm: 2h15m Hill work

Fri am: 30m run

Sat: 6h LSD with a few climbs

Sun: 4h30m LSD

Lem, ek en Henning gaan op vir die Lighthouse. Sal graag jou Boland trip wil doen maar die verlof raak nou bietjie min. Miskien kom ry ek in de oggend en kom werk toe om te slaap in die middag Embarrassed
