Mate of mine, he's okay. In hospital still, had stitches in his head, MRI scan tomorrow and possible knee op. Guy in a white Chico turned into him, hit his right fork, entering Llandodno road. Bike and helmet totaled.

Once again - thank heavens for helmets. That could have been his head.

Yeah, and on that note - was riding the spruit on Sunday and saw two guys riding without helmets. I made a comment about it and their reply was "why, i have never ridden with a helmet on in my life why must i start now".............

Because the first time I fell off my bike, I just short of fractured my skull. Helmet was wrecked. That's why.

It is no use argueing with STUPID people, they also don't wear seat belts and most likely drive drunk. "Because they've never been in a car crash ...." Like I said, STUPID. Leave them to endanger their own lives on the bike and hopefully our safety record on the road will improve without them driving.

Also saw two people in Groenkloof on Monday riding without helmets ! How did they get onto the trail in the first place ?
