SP, its is the minority that change the world, and the majority that wish that it could all be changed back.

............ I actually tried to start a constructive topic, but it seems as though this forum is infested by a bunch of crude imbeciles whose ambition in life is to become a bonnet ornament.

Having done a search all I can say is that poor ShaunH is working his butt off to make cycling safer and none of you could give a toss .....

idrive, chill, there was a minor diversion, but at least people are reading this thread unlike the total trashing of other threads with a similar message.  Maybe the name and shame strategy of "(wo)men behaving badly" cut to the bone a bit too closely.  But allow the diversion and come back with a new post.

and please don't accuse us of "not giving a toss..." the possiblities are just too , uh, mmmmm, attractive not to go on a perverse tangent again.

idrive, yep - that is why i made the comment i did earlier. unfortunately it does at times seem futile, but who knows, maybe perseverance will pay off.

in the meantime my TB mates and I will continue marshalling, wheni'm not marshalling on the bike i'll continue asssting in other ways. i'm sure shaunh's gonna continue his efforts too. and the reason why is simple - people like YOU make it worthwhile - as long as there are some people who appreciate it and care then it is worth it, so thank you.

iDrive, I took/gave a big bashing on this topic earlier. I'm there for you, in agreement. Kudos to ShaunH AND SP...

Some of us actually do give a toss.  Hence me asking about what exactly you need to know about the yellow line issue.  I guess you saw that as sarcasm or something. Bateleur12008-01-29 06:56:11

idrive' date=' they can have my bike, ANYTIME.  BUT if I then go onto any motorway and a taxi drives in the yellow lines, or a lady on her cell pushes me off the road, all hell will break loose![/quote']

snel: |snelweg ~weg, expressway, speedway, motorway;

ewep I really hope the "motorway" you talk about is NOT the same "snelweg" the dictionary talks about above. If so you are right..... all hell will break loose when they arrest you for breaking the law. Even the Tannie on her cellphone will go of scottfree as you are the one breaking the law!!!!!!!!

I think I am one such "t**ser"  (could not resist, I am now sowing the seed to my own downfall)

Here is the complete regulation:

Prohibition on driving on shoulder of public road, except in certain circumstances

298A. (1) Subject to subregulation (2) and regulation 298(1)(e), no person shall drive a motor vehicle on the shoulder of a public road.

(2) Notwithstanding subregulation (1), the driver of a motor vehicle may, during the period between sunrise and sunset, drive such motor vehicle on the shoulder of a public road which is designated for one lane of traffic in each direction--

while such motor vehicle is being overtaken by another vehicle; and

if he or she can do so without endangering himself or herself, other traffic, pedestrians or property on such public road; and

if persons and vehicles upon a public road are clearly discernible at a distance of at least 150 metres.
