Even when I ride the belt drive in anger, I still don't get the same kick I get from the chain.

The stretch is basically non existent as they are carbon belts, they are compatible with rohloff from what i have read...

I saw that, and even then he is purely speculating.

I must say however when I stand and jump the pedals up a climb ,it's pretty responsive.

Works with any hub that can take a sprocket, the Rolhoff being the top choice.
