True. Last week I was heading home from our holiday and travelling at a safe and legal 120km/h( cruse control locked to 125km/h) only to get buzzed by a Polo driver. I refused to give way and did not move to the yellow line. We where heading up a long hill so they just crossed the solid white line and attempted to overtake. His 1.4/1.6 was not doing very well so I slowed and gave some space but as I was thinking that he is nuts a BMW came zooming pass and over took us both!!! luckily nothing came over the hill.

What I don't get is why they could not wait max 1 min to get to the top of the hill and then over take.

There it is. In black and white. This guy gets it. It's not about them or us, taxi's and buses or even cyclists and cars. It's about my attitude when I'm on the road. No matter the mode of transport, we have no respect for others.

What can we do about road safety? Treat the road as the deadly place it is. Fail to do so and your and my life will also be lost.

Good piece...its all about our attitudes towards each other. Simple example

Since I have started going to critical mass, I have become more aware of motorbikes and going out of my way to accomodate them ito them passing me in traffic or single lanes, I drive a bakkie that will take up a whole lane making it very hard for them to go through. Is it because they help us come mass time...dunno. All I know I almost always get a thank you...consideration, that is what its about.
