My kids bought these multi coloured "pipe cleaners" from a craft type shop...for some school project.

I immediately saw a much much better purpose for them and hi-jacked a couple...

AFTER your normal cleaning procedure...i.e the chain scrubber thingy majik...or my method of stripping and solvent wash...

THEN you just run this fuzzy pipe cleaner trought each and every link - it cleans everything that usually stays behind...

the chain is now cleaner that the day it was bought!! I promise you...

Voila...a happy & clean chain!!

Maybe these broke your quick link when you forced 2 through at the same time!

no chance...they are way too flimsy to cause anything but a cleaning action!!

PS: this clean procedure was shot 2 rides before my near long walk....

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

DAmn right!!! I think I should repackage them and re brand them as a revolutionary chain cleaning kit!!!

My next million made...right there!!

Aag nee man Cassie!

....... then oil the links one by one with Squirt

I do the one by one. Just mark a link with a marking pen where you start, just as quick as the spray on method and no cleaning up after

I always remove the chain at the masterlink and clean it with a paint brush in petrol.

And how do you dispose of the petrol after you washed the chain?

Every week when bike is in use

Topeak bike stand

Park tool chain cleaning tool + Prepsol

low pressure hosepipe spray

Lube link by link when water dried properly off chain

Superbike similar story but with paddock stand, chain washed with Prepsol and toothbrush every week but lube sprayed on with aerosol can

I would eat off my chain/cassette it is so clean
