Having a look at the original post I commented on - are the bottle cage threads part of the couplers or still part of the frame?...

 

They should be part of the frame, it will be two rivnuts.

Agreed - didn't mean it was carbon specifically. Just noticed the couplers. Didn't realise they wouldn't work with carbon. Learn something every day :thumbup:

 

Sure they do....tandem Calfee fullsus custom goodness with S&S couplers

 

And yes at around 50cm that is quite possibly the worlds tallest BB!

Why split the front triangle of a frame?

 

Cool engineering but I don't get it...

From what I understand these bikes are 'travel' bikes required to be transported on a regular basis (in planes etc). I presume the position of the couplers is determined by the most even spilt without affecting the frames major stress points...?
