Froome's ride yesterday puts him 4th on the all time 30k TT list - not bad for a 'rough diamond'

Beyond a shadow of doubt, the ugliest crankset I have ever laid my eyes on.

I like it - in a rude way.

L'Equipe's seven reasons to be hopeful

Chris Froome (Team Sky) has a significant overall lead of 3:25 in the Tour de France after the time trial. It is a comfortable cushion but for some people are convinced that this Tour de France far from over.

L'Equipe has found seven reasons why Froome's rivals could be hopeful.

1. Froome didn’t finish off the time trial strongly

2. The hardest part of this year's Tour is still to come

3. Contador will be exceptional in the third week

4. Froome is already at the peak of his form

5. Team Sky is showing signs of weakness

6. Quintana is ready to attack in the Alps

7. A coalition could be formed to beat Froome

Some valid points - except who really believes Contador will be exceptional in the third week? I can't see it.

Too slow...

Another interesting fact though: No French, Italian or Spanish stage winners in the first 11 stages. Hasn't happened at the Tour de France since 1926!

I'm with you dracs, I think Berto has barely been hanging on. Kreuzinger looks like he is holding back.

L'Equipe has found seven reasons why Froome's rivals could be hopeful.

1. Froome didn’t finish off the time trial strongly - Probably due to the massive head wind which came up at the end of the day meaning every rider lost massive time to Martin.

2. The hardest part of this year's Tour is still to come. - So Froome can extend his gap further?

3. Contador will be exceptional in the third week. - I wouldn't hold my breath.

4. Froome is already at the peak of his form - Infact I think since last years Tour Froome has got better in every race.

5. Team Sky is showing signs of weakness - And yet Froome looks strong without them. Besides Porte won't get dropped again.

6. Quintana is ready to attack in the Alps. And will continue to lose time in the next TT dispite it being hilly.

7. A coalition could be formed to beat Froome - Sadly for neutrals it will probably take place while Froome is up the road.

As above... But then again I am biased :) Go Froome Dog!!!

The key is always the mountains, one bad day up Ventoux or Alpe d'Huez and you can kiss goodbye 5 minutes... The thing is Froome just hasn't looked remotely like having a bad day.

But look at Porte, great one day, lost 15minutes the next - still a long way to go!
