Who else did this race on Saturday?

I did the 50 miler and found it to be quite a challenge after doing almost no training since middle March.

I survived it, and will be back next year for more.

Jip... survived is about the term! :whistling: Knew I was underprepared, started too fast, slacked off too much in the middle.... and still kukked off at the end. Ja, I think that sums it up.

Still, I was extremely glad it was held on Sat and not Sunday! Baie lekkerder toe voor die kaggel met 'n rooiwyntjie gewees.

SeaBee, we started so slow, by the time we tagged, the first guys were already around the second bend in the road.

Was nice, but think one more waterpoint would be a good idea.

JGR, as I told you, I get my good days, but they are few and far between. :whistling:

2nd time on an MTB ever. Was a long day in the saddle at 7h15m. Legs are cooked :-)

for the 100 miler? that a good time

My second one. About 30min faster than last year. Was cooked in that climb after WP 2. Last stretch was really hard. But I will be back.I now know what still needs to be done before the K2C. ....Lots of training.

But that is why I do races. To have an excuse to train.

That's an outright LIE Wannabe, those days are much closer together than you want us to believe :D . Staying in the saddle over 80km is a good day for me, 5h20. :( The impromptu, afterthought, cobbled-together-at-the-last-moment single track right at the end was rubbish, the preceding 79.5km very enjoyable.

I did the 50 miler. Really enjoyed the race. The weather was perfect and the scenery great. Corrugations were a bit of the pain (in all senses of the word!) but other than that a nice race. Definitely be back next year!
