2015 Dates Announced.

Hey guys our 2015 dates are out. We are planning 7 trips in 2015. Yes that’s right. 7. We will be offering 5 trips to the Portes Du Soleil beginning in late June and an additional 2 trips to Chamonix in September. This will be our first trip to the Chamonix so it’s both super exiting and scary for us.

As you no doubt know by now the Portes du Soleil offers quite possibly the best Lift assisted mountain biking in Europe with 650km (and growing every year) of trail. 25 Ski lifts. 2 Countries. 5 dedicated bike parks.

It is quite simply the biggest mountain biking area on the planet.

Dates.

Portes Du Soleil (PDS)

1. PDS Trip 1. 21 June Depart SA – 3 July Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

2. PDs Trip 2. 5 July Depart SA – 17 July Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

3. PDS Trip 3. 19 June Depart SA – 31 July Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

4. PDS Trip 4. 2 Aug Depart SA – 14 Aug Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

5. PDS Trip 5. 16 Aug Depart SA – 28 Aug Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

Chamonix

6. Chamonix Trip 1. 30 Aug Depart SA – 11 Sept Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

7. Chamonix Trip 2. 13 Sept Depart SA – 25 Sept Depart France. 10 full days riding. 11 nights Catered Accommodation.

The small print.

  • We need a minimum of 11 people per trip to make it economically viable.
  • The trip will be inclusive of:
    • Flights. Economy flights from Johannesburg or Cape Town.
    • Accommodation. Shared accommodation in a stunning Alpine chalet.
    • Breakfast & Dinner at the chalet. For lunch you’ll be out on the trails.
    • Lift passes. Even the most hardened XC guys will still buy a lift pass
    • Transfers between Geneva and Morzine/Chamonix

[*]You will be accompanied by someone who has done multiple trips to the Alps to show you round and help get you acclimatized with the place.

[*]South African citizens will need to obtain a Schenghen Visa

[*]You will need adequate medical and evacuation insurance

    [*]You'll need spending money

[*]We expect the price to be between R24000 and R26000

[*]The pricing above is an estimate based on current exchange rates and our experience. We are subject to foreign currency fluctuations. You will be given a written quote to confirm pricing.

I'll be taking whatever tires are on my bike at the time.

Durability should be your primary motivator. Think Excavators.

You can also take Peach's tyres off his bike while he's sleeping. I think he'll be running Excavators

Don't stress. The good new is it gets even better every year (if that's even possible) so 2015 will be eeeeven better than this year.

I'm so stoked they've sorted out the Pleney situation. The last 2 years have been less than optimal.

If anybody is looking to go please let me know.

My spot has just opened up for this trip due to unscheduled back surgery.

PM me and we can get the ball rolling.

Yeah i've stayed in that unit twice. It's got a double bed in what we called the man cave and a double bed in the single room.

In the lounge area there's a double convertible bed/couch and in the single room there's a fold out single bed/couch.

It's tight in there but it's chills. You're there for the riding.

Hey all.

Just a heads up there is an Apple/Android app called Portes du Soleil. There's a setting you can go into that you can change to Summer so you'll get the summer bike trails.

Pretty handy and WAY better than it was last year.
