Audaxnut Posted October 1, 2013 Share We were on our way to Heidelburg, then onto Dasville (30km from Villiers), then back to the South via Henley-on-Klip. 200 odd km in all. About 20 riders today. Any chance of a copy of the route? Did you do the loop up to Alberton?

Speed Racer Posted October 2, 2013 Share Any chance of a copy of the route? Did you do the loop up to Alberton? PM your email, and I'll send you the route. We started at Cafe du Cirque and did a loop up the Steps, Klpirivier, Swartkoppiies, the Lido, Eikenhof, before heading out to H'burg on the R550. Dave and I drove back to Durban yesterday afternoon and noticed one thing - the wind only blows up there on the weekends. Speed Racer Posted October 2, 2013 Share What are the plans for Oct/Nov/Dec? Waiting for confirmation from the Boss. 300 will more than likely be in October. Watch this space for the 600 and hopefully a 400 before the end of the year.

Was hoping to make it up for the 600 and have it as a pre-qualifier for PBP, but looks like I'm gonna be riding DC that day. Will have to hold out and hope you guys have a 600 or 1000 in 2014 that I can come and join you for.

walkerr Posted October 14, 2013 Share +2 me and Andrew are in as well Never ridden more than 200 so this will be interesting Don't think of it as a 300 - only think as far down the road as the next cafe, pit stop, water break etc etc. When you get there, then think about the next one. When you get tired, set yourself nearer goals - next junction, next road sign. Keep pedalling to that, and when you get there pick another target. Another tip I was given was to switch your Sigma/Garmin so it doesn't show you anything like total distance - my preference is to just see the current time. Look at the scenery, chat to whoever you meet, don't sit looking at how far you have to go. Keep going like that, and you'll be amazed how the KMs disappear under your wheels, and how much you enjoy the ride. Edit - doh, it's a 300 not a 600! Speed Racer Posted October 14, 2013 Share I am considering it, furtherst is the Jock at 150.So do i do the 200km first and then attempt the 300kn?I think you can make it. It's basically a 12 hour ride at pretty moderate heart rate. The big difference between this and the Jock (besides the distance :/)), is that your heart rate will be much lower.
