So, I got no hits on the other thread so I decided to start a new one. I am in need of some cycling coaching to up my game before the 2014 joberg2c. With the other hubbers doing the cadence training etc I will be somewhat slow in comparison come joberg2c so I will need all the help I can get.

I've done a couple of stage races and followed those generic training plans. they did work a treat but I think it is time to get a personalised plan that focus on my weaknesses etc.

Can you recommend a coach in the JHB area?

BTW, please go ahead and post all your joberg2c related training comments/content here. This thread does not have to be dedicated to my coach searching. Anything goes

to get the ball rolling (other than my coach recommendation question), when do you plan to start your joberg2c training?

Started after Sabie Experience - around 20 Dec.

My advice would be to spend time in the saddle and do long rides.

Yes - on a roadbike!

I plan to do another double lapper at the 94.7 again this year so I should have the road bike tits in place

Also look at Audax rides - 200km & 300km.

I only did single lap at 947 but it is a fun ride compared to some J2C days. When you start doing 100km+ and 2000m climbing you appreciate the time spent in the saddle.

You have a good base so dont go waste your time by doing hours upon hours of boring district road every ride you do, make your training rides good quality rides and do intervals.

This is what I am going to do for next years J2C, I also would like to hunt a proper training plan
