Where is the best (widest variety) place to purchase draft-legal tribars? The ITU approved bridged ones.

Hmm, still seems excessive though..

Pre entry for the midmar is R120 and R180

10km races seem to be less than R50 for an entry

94.7 entry = R320

it shouldn't be much more than R550 for the race...

5150 like IM is a owned brand so the price in SA is the equivilant (or close) to what you would pay for the same race in the US. Much the same as Global11

Also consider these are pro am races on an international circuit

and I agree - way to expensive for a 150 mins of racing. Its over R5.30 per minute on the course

Widest variety? Online.

Otherwise try one of the tri shops in Jhb. I know of Troi Sports and Tribe Multsport. Not sure if they stock the draft legal ones though.

I like the Vision bars, got them from chain reaction for cheep cheep, I found them very comfy and easy to install.

I wouldn't bother with clip on bars for draft legal races these are normally so short that there is probably little benefit, as you are likely to be sucking wheel the whole time anyway aero bars are pretty redundant.

Its all a numbers game.

How many people do the Midmar?

How many entrants for 94.7?

The fixed overheads are divided over a bigger number of athletes = lower cost / athlete.
