You can also try Miway.

I'm with them, but I still need to claim from them, so I can't tell how the service will be.

Went with Cyclesure. They were only one who would confirm in writing the liability on overseas rides.

A company by the name of SIAS does the assessment for Outsurance. They get paid for each claim that is not paid. How it works is, if the claim is R 20 000 they get paid a 20% commission for the non payment of the claim. And that is how SIAS make money!

I have a friend that works for them. I will apply as much pressure as possble on Outsurance! They are gonna investigate you like a criminal! Call your friends, boss and family...

They will do as much as they can to NOT pay the claim.

You will wait forever if you dont apply pressure...

Good luck.

I have loads more to share. Thats why Outsurance can offer low premiums. They pay out less than half of ANY average insurer in South Africa.

I didn't have a days problem. Outsurance was a bit sticky, but who isn't?? Bike paid out in full.

Same here, took all of 2 days to get my money. But I have been with them for around 10 yrs, insure car, home and bikes and have never claimed. Prehaps if there is a next time they may not be so accommodating and quick?!

For me it was just on a year, had two claims in at the same time and neither were rejected, one car scrape and other bike broken.

What I would like to know is where do these insurance claim bikes end up? On my old bike the fork, shocks, drivetrain, brakes and handlebars, stem etc were all OK. When I asked the guy who came to collect the bike he was quite vague and said they end up at auctions but couldnt tell me when or where!

I don't know the inside dealings of short term insurers but I find it extremely unlikely that a commission structure that encourage such obvious conflict of interest would be allowed by legislation & regulators

Its for services rendered. If there is a loophole there is no grounds for a valid claim.

Easy and legal...

Hi there. Did they pay you out in full, or did the expect you to replace your bike through their preferred supplier?

Paid me cash in full... my bike was a bit under-insured though, got paid R8k, but to replace my bike new would have been around R12-15k
