A mate of mine threw a frozen water bottle at an oncoming car that was overtaking in to his lane. It went straight through a piece of the car's windscreen. The guy was super irate and tried to run over him and it resulted in him not riding much road any more.....

So moral is be careful what you do - it could result in you and the car occupants having a fight....

I read here once about a guy who phoned the traffic department with the reg nr after somebody shot him with a paintball gun. He said he wanted to verify his address because he was waiting for speed fines that didn't arrive.

They gave him the address and he went to that address one evening and painted the wall if I remember correctly. Funny story.

So, on my daily commute home today, I became part of the new sport in SA. Seems like it is becoming the "in" thing to throw cyclists with objects from a moving vehicle. Yesterday the same 3 guys came past and threw a soft something at me, but missing. Today again they trew me with something, this time heavier and hitting me in the ribs. I was furious. Next time it may be a brick?

Now, how would you react to this and what action would you take. I know that I will get them on that same route again.

Sadly its not a new sport in SA, over 10 years ago some young planks from Van Dyk Park in d@@sburg shot me in the bum with a pellet or bb gun as they drove past me.

Also raced off laughing there heads off

What to do? Thats a tough one.... resort to their level and reply with violence or be wise and try avoid them?

Take care whatever you decide

EDIT: Oops did not read thru the whole thread...

Firstly... I dont think its cool in any manor to throw things out of a car... Let alone at someone...

But i would like to point out something that i find interesting:

Here we have a typical onesided view of the events... No-one is questioning the guy who was the "victim"... What he did to provoke the incidents...

But with burry-RIP-everyone can take an objective view of the incident... Is it because we're to afraid to be viewed as racist? Are we really that objective?

I know iam not...
