Great race - hung onto Rattlesnake`s wheel last year but fantastic event.

Make sure you can climb!!!!!!!

Most of the downhills are fast - but not that technical. there are a few you need to be careful of but you can walk them if you are not sure. Well worth it and best value for dosh race around!

My partner slow with the climbs but fast with the downhills. might just work very well then

I agree, awesome event and I am going again this year.

BUT, if you hate climbing you might just hate this event (on day 2 you will climb 1000m before you hit the 30km mark). Not the best event for a beginner IMO. Sani2c is much easier IMO. And the temp could be a challange if you don't like heat.

one of the best stage races we have .

i dont enjoy stage races at the best of times ( im a XCO kind of muppit ) ( stage races are normally bouring open road trails , blleeeee ) but this race has some of the best whipping single track in SA, great climbs with fast flowing single track that will blow your mind . i have done three and its the one race i will not miss .

just enter it and do it , you will be back i promise .

I had to sit under a tree for 5min last year to try cool off. My polar said it was 44 degrees!

Love this thread....some awesome things about the 3 towers:

The trails...its no myth, they really are that awesome

The views...quite majestic imo

The food...the chicken braai on day 2 is insance...move over nandos

The people...the mark and geoff show every night is very relaxed and defnitely lightness up the standard race briefing at events

Guys it is an awesome race, but don't lie to the noobs. It is a propper suffer fest. Don't let the distance fool you.

there is the short event..which is easier for noobs...(like us last year) one word of advice..dont go anywhere near karma if you get a puncture
