On the FB page there is a "Sports Class" for beginners/trail bikes. Do they ride on the same DH track?

They should do. Helderkruin is easy and everyhing has a "B-line".

Some years ago there were guys who raced hardtail DJ bikes at Helderkruin and still clocked times that would place them top 10 overall.

So bring whatever bike you want. Enter sports class. have fun!

Cool. What is the length of the track? Time?

It's pretty short. Not sure which exact track they're using, but if it's roughly the same as the most popular, then the fast guys will do it in just over 1min.

According to Ryan the rule of full face and long sleeves apply. This puts in a bit of a spot since I can't get any response from Rush Sports as to the delivery of my helmets.

The UCI ruling states that - a Full face with a peak must be worn - it does not stipulate the type of fullface - so just borrow a mates MX lid!

I have a problem with "B" lines....it still has short sharp 'bends'...

I can do "C" lines - the curve is bigger/wider/longer ^_^

The track is really ridable with a non-DH bike, my bike was just fine....it was me that was the sissy and taking the moffie line (over the one drop section, other was just fine).

RE the FF comments, that place is loose like a .... from ....., and if you do come off and your face makes any contact with the ground you will loose skin (teeth, eyes, ears, maybe even your only nose). :nuke:

Hey Guys & Gals,

The track will be taped 1st thing Sunday morning. Food and drink stands will be located at the base of the track so riders and spectators can keep fueled up.

Ryan Frerich's has organised for Rockstar energy drinks to be there on the day to keep the riders energy up between runs.

The classes will be as follows:

Sports Class - (1st timers and trail bikes)

Open Class - (Anyone who has been riding for +1 year)

Hardtail class - (self explanatory, but will depend on numbers)

National Race class - (for the serious fellows who like to roll bicycles down hills)

*EDIT - No licence required for this event in any category.

Date Sunday 28 July 2013

Practice 09h30 - 11h30

Race from 12h00

Entrance R150 (on the day only i.e. no on-line entry)

The hope is to have at least 30 riders turn up on the day...
