Looks ok,

not sure what the price is.

I have been looking for an XS dual for my wife for over a year now.

not the best size to find something nice.

My boyfriend and I both bought Slade 3's earlier this year to use for riding a bit of distance and doing the odd xc race on.

We opted for the lower specced model as these are our "play"-bikes. We are not really worried about the specs, we just wanted something that would pedal a bit easier than our 15kg+ trail bikes.

I am loving this bike so much that I am spending much more time on it than on my beloved Nukeproof! This is definitely a very good budget buy. It is also not bad on the trails. The sizes are quite big, I bought a size small, but for anyone shorter than 1.65 m I would suggest an xs.

I don't think you can go wrong with this bike.

Thx all.

Can get the bike for R12k, which is not bad considering I paid R11 for my giant which was similarly specced a year ago (except to the fork which is better than my RS recon).

The weight bothers me a bit for a HT at just under 13kg, but as I said beggars can't be choosers and I'm not spending a further 3k just to get XT components and save 1kg.

Anyways, this will be my wife's first MTB (she only started cycling last for the 2013 IM 70.3) and we ordered the bike.

Will let you know how the bike is when it arrives. can't wait to hit the trails with my better half once we get the bike...

@DJ XS DS frames are non-existent. very little manufacturers make XS frames and those who makes them is not available locally or just very hard to come by. Have you tried Giant for DS XS? The anthem x comes in a womans' specific xs version, they retail at just over R20k.

I have one of those, it's an amazing bike.. I have really pushed mine to the Limits and I have not needed to replace anything on it...

With 27.5 wheels you can't go wrong.

A friend has a Slade 2 (I think it's the 2) and it is pretty darn good. Used it for a few weeks whilst my bike was out of commission. It worked, fork was pretty good (Revelation). All in all nothing to complain about
