the way i see it is the hubbers with many likes are the ones bring positivaty to the system , the memebers clearly like what they saying . those with little likes are not bringing anything to the table but BS and trolling .

its not how many posts a person has that makes them " nice to deal with " its how many " likes " they have , this tells you if the liked buy there fellow hubbers .

Matt stop molding this place into a little personal empire , let the memeber speak as they the ones who keep it going .

its seems the trolls and negative ones are the ones with more say than the positive outspoken honest ones .

But why not put it out and ask before you just do something like this.

You may have created the hub but WE keep it going.

Total bs that you have total control

Gie gie you are funny...... Now rant a little about the backup servers as well!!!!!!

Apologies guys. With the focus on clarity around buyer/seller ratings I hadn't fully considered the importance and impact of removing the likes count.

It's not a case of wanting to mold a personal empire, but rather wanting to keep Hubbers happy and the confusion around likes / trader ratings was a common complaint.

I have restored the feature, but would like to find a way to ensure there is clarity around what likes score (reputation) means and how this differs from trader ratings.

I like the suggestion of renaming, e.g. Hub love, etc. Perhaps it just requires some tweaks. For example, a Hubber with many likes will show the number and a rating, e.g. "Excellent". I can see how this is easily confused with buyer/seller ratings.

All I'd like to do is have a clear distinction between the two, not eliminate either.

I welcome any suggestions on how we can do this and perhaps even make better use of the likes feature.

Thanks

Oh, and this does not get said enough... this forum is the best looking and most functional one I have ever encountered- well done Matt and keep it up!

How about showing the Reputation (forum likes) and a Trader Rating summary both on the same profile page. That way a user can immediately see that there are two different rating types

OK, so in the spirit of bringing back/retaining the "like" function, I've just liked every post on this thread, hope these ones show up fellas

There is a huge flaw in this like system.

Someone can get likes without saying a word or contributing anything positive.

Just see how many likes there are in the "Ladies without Bicycles" thread or the troll thread "I have an idea for a new thread"

Handbags get slung around and some guys like the bitchy comments also.

Why do we need to feel liked? I mean if you like me great, if you dont, not my problem!

Rather get the rating system working better
