So off I go to my mtb group ride this morning. We are doing a fast 60 km. Lekker. Loaded with a bottle of water. T Man dont use anything besides a bottle of water for a 60km ride. Get to the ride, get informed that I should have left my cell phone on last night, then I would have got the sms that the ride has evolved into a 100km fast ride. I was okay until 75km and then boy oh boy did I have a supersonic bonk. It was horrific. I have never suffered for 25 km like today. I managed to bum a half peanut butter sarmie on about 80 km but the damage was already done.

The bottle of water was long gone. So I learned again today, eat on the bike, drink on the bike. It is worth it. I am now lying on the couch and am officially useless for the rest of the day.

Banana usually does it for me- have it at about 50km- found that it works well. Usually have 2 bottles of water though. Don't believe in all this new fangled supplement stuff...

Placebo effect... If you believe it will make you faster, it most certainly will. ;)
