X01 is already released and should be available soon, might be worthwhile waiting for that or even the X9,1

As for switching, still in two minds. Rode Karkloof most of last week on XX1 and never ran out of gears, used maybe 9 of the gears.

Really enjoyed using it. I did find myself shifting more often though, but found it less of a hassle given that it was just the rear.

According to that the xo1 goes for around 12k? I can get xx1 here at 13500, I'd rather go for xx1 then.

Who's selling xx1 groupsets locally?

XX1 is great, the gaps in the gearing take some getting used to, but i can highly recommend 1 x11. I actually found it saves my legs a little as i dont stick in the big ring, and force my way over stuff. I run 34 and 36 tooth on the front.

When I rebuilt my Cannondale I wanted full XX1 but Easton didn't have the 11 speed freebody's available yet so I went with an XX1 Crank and running 10 speed on the back (combination of XX and XX1), worked out quite cheap actually because the XX1 cassette is huge bucks and I didn't need to buy that. Granted I don't have the same gearing that you'd have with the full XX1 setup but for the races I do its fine. Would be awesome to see someone come out with a 11-40+ 10 speed cassette.
