Moving and shaking happening!

Marc Marquez confirmed to HRC for another 2 years.

Pol Espargaro leaves Tech 3 and joins KTM.

Aleix Espargaro whines about Suzuki (seems he's talking to Aprilia).

Rins or Zarco (French) to go to Tech 3.

Davide Brivio and Suzuki Yamaha don't agree on the team balance.

Don't y'all just love silly season?

Oh, and there's actually racing on Sunday too.

GO BRAD!

Not all good, 2 younger riders at KTM MotoGP team means there's not much room for Brad Binder. Possibly as the young gun in a few years once the Tech3 duo have developed the bike.

Interesting to see Pol slam the trellis design before even riding the bike, yet he gets the ride!!!!

Brad won't jump straight to MotoGP. He's obsessed with Moto2 and I see him joining the Ajo Team next year, taking over Zarco's ride when he departs for MotoGP. The failures of Jack Miller and Tito Rabat (who might decide to come back to Moto2 apparently) are very clear warnings that it's not easy stepping up to the premier class unless you've either a) freakishly good or b) get a seriously good bike, or c) both (Marc Marquez 2013).

He's smart, he'll wait for things to play out and see how the bike develops. The KTM is apparently a very good bike, but making it a great bike is the challenge.

I really don't want to be all doom and gloom but I don't see Binder in MotoGP, unless he wins the Moto3 and really sets the Moto2 on fire with a run away victory. He is talented, no doubt about it, but he has no substantial financial backing(that I know of anyway), plus he holds the wrong passport.

Sad but it's true, politics is big in that paddock and there is the obvious Spain/Italy mob but also a big push for the next Aussie/American superstar with Millers implosion and Hayden/Spies's departure.

South Africa is very near the bottom of the list.......if on the list at all.

That's quite true!

Anyways, first practice is done. The Suzuki is still fast around the Catalan circuit, Lorenzo is still fast everywhere, and the rest of the pack are a long way behind!

I really wish people would realize just how talented Lorenzo is. They probably do but won't say it.

Yes he has the personality of a rock. isn't particularly marketable as some of the other narcissists and his riding could be described as boring but he is on the limit just as much as the others albeit so smooth you wouldn't notice it.

He still has many years of acing and stands a good chance of really winning the title this year and I believe next year.

I personally loved those time trial type laptime battles between him and Pedrosa and Stoner in the 2011/2012 season.

Interesting to hear that it looks like one of Marquez's "demands" when negotiating his contract was that Pedrosa had to be signed as 2nd rider. Blocking a rider who could challenge for number one rider. Very reminiscent of Rossi blocking Stoner at Yamaha in 2006, that got him Stoner at Ducati in 2007 and Lorenzo as a teammate. Maybe it will backfire on MM too.........

I think this says it all:

"Of particular note was Jorge Lorenzo’s (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) early pace, the Mallorcan dipping below the circuit record with a 1’42.143 on his fifth lap."

I don't care how much talent JL93 has. He doesn't have the DNA to be remembered as one of the greats. No matter how many championships he wins or what the record books say. People won't remember him.

So if you had to rate Rossi, stoner and lorenzo aand MM...when they all burst onto the scene. Who would you rate as the greatest.

JL93, is that the love child of JL and Mm? Edited by Kraggie

I see that the track layout will change to the One used for F1. Traditional turn 12 gone and now using the chicanes.

Interesting. I still don't know what actually happened in the Salom incident, and I'm not sure I want to see :(

Seems that Yamaha and Suzuki were quite strong in the final sector and have lost that advantage with the new layout now.
