I saw the Alp D’Huez triathlon last night on SS7

Anyone here that did it? It looks fantastic!! It seems like it is after the TDF, so it would be a great trip to go and watch the last week of TDF and then do the tri. 2.2 swim, 115 bike finish it with Alp D’Huez and then a 22km run on and off-road. Freaken awesome!!

My problem is that I suck going down a hill. This year at 70.3 Austria i rode past the guys up the 8km climb like they have flat wheels. When it came to the downhill (in 50km winds) I was holding onto my bike for dear life tapping the brakes more than the pedals. Think SAmmy Sanchez vs Sir Wiggens. Those Euromonsters can ride a downhill!

From the TV broadcast, it didn’t seem like they were going downhill on the ADH. It looked like they had another transition on top and they ran around the village. Like I say, that’s what it looked like to me so I can be wrong

My suggestions....

1. Check your position going downhill.

2. Don't be afraid to go downhill

3. At the top load up with bottles and put them in your jersey and everywhere for extra weight!

4. When okes fly past... draft for those 3 seconds while they go past...

Give me a call Gadget and I will hook you up with one of my Guys, suck his wheel and follow his line and you will get faster and learn in the process.
