If it is for bicycle related parts find a widemouth plastic bottle. The large mrs Balls Chutney bottle worx well. Put the part in there, add your degreaser....... clean Green or something similar, shake the bottle and your stuffies is clean. A old water bottle workx well to clean a chain. Shake and rinse afterwards with hot water.. Hang up to dry.

A deep stainless dish and a stiff brush, a paintbrush and an old toothbrush with solvents worx well. Soak the parts overnight is the gunk is hard to remove.

Do not use paraffin, diesel or any other volatiles to clean, some are carcogenic and all are bad for he environment.

Agreed, what I found to work well too is an old pickle jar that is faceted ... the facets make a big difference when shaking the jar up.

Yeah, I guess its fine if you just wash smallish bike parts, but my feeling is you will soon find bigger stuff to wash and its not deep enough.

Personally I prefer this stand alone unit, size wise (760 x 520 x 890) its more versatile and the stand alone value makes it easier as you dont need a bench or table top, plus it remains at an easy height to work. There is a small price difference of about 400 bucks (R800-R1195) but to me anyway its worth it.

I have always wanted one around my workshop so I think this has convinced me to head off and get one. :D
