I've gone ass over end over that log before, so I'm a bit hesitant to try and launch it.

Slow down, unclip one foot, edge over and go. A few seconds lost, but I'm not racing anyone.

I've gone over it with no problems in the past, maybe it's just a mental block.

The erosion has got progressively worse over the winter so you will probably be safe to assume it's not you having a block it is the obstacle becoming steadily more spiteful.

Before that log became so corroded it was a pretty decent jump. Now I get off and push over in fear of banging my cassette against it

That happened to me the previous weekend before the changes made to it now and went over my handle bars. Crank hooked onto stump and flung me over my handlebars.

But I was determined to make it this past weekend thanks to my fellow riders advice!

I was wondering a while back why I was having issues at that spot after really enjoying it previously, and then my youngster pointed out the erosion (after I had had a *just about stayed upright and swore a lot* moment).

I don't bother with it at the moment - if it stops being fun I stop doing it. Hopefully a repair is in the pipeline.
