20K!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could tour the whole of SA with that. If that is what it costs to ride your bike then count me out.

I can do it cheaper on my own for the fun of it.

Thought we could hang something together here. I did Cape Town on R400.00 so this is very far away from anything like even R5 000.

Off you go then.Just speak to FRAIL and he will give you some tips

BTW where did you sleep and eat when you did Cape Town.In a box on the side of the road?

Yip, exactly. Not quite a box but a tent. All good.

You get so tired so why pay for something you do not really need?

My 20K worth...........

the standard bank is called Cycle for Kids and most of the money is going towards charity. i think its the same ride mentioned above saying they race to maritzburg, they go at speed

I know a few guys from my work are doing it. Will find out from them. Apparently they race to Pietermaritzburg!

The guys I was speaking about are friends that ride together and they're already at their maximum of 24 riders. He said the group was already committed months ago!

I only mentioned the standard bank group because that is a group who I know do the trip. They do have to raise/pay in a lot of money but its all for a good cause.

I do believe that this trip can be done for a reasonable amount, staying at decent places, with a back-up vehicle and therefore not having to carry bags etc on the bike.

Any ideas or further info on groups doing a trip like this would be great.

If someone pulls out of the group I would be keen:)

BTW... All the money @cycle4kids goes to charity!

Standard bank foot the entire bill... And anything from the riders is given 100% to charity :-)

From what I have seen it looks like a very well organised tour.

I like the fact that it is a charity event where they don't play around with small amounts and raise big moola as a result...nothing worse than trying to sell loads of R2 raffle tickets.
