It's Friday and a poll .... do you race?

I enjoy racing. I enjoy riding. I don't enjoy racing when I'm just riding. I have mates who want to make every ride a race. I don't ride with those mates very often, but when we race they're normally behind.

I very rarely enter races these days and if I do, I ride them.

 

I enjoy smelling the flowers!

 

I get to smell the flowers often...usually when picking himself up out of the trailside shubbery...

I race because it gives me an excuse and the opportunity to ride in places I wouldn't normally get to. An hour to 90 minutes drive most weekends becomes excusable.

 

I also like seeing the look on peoples faces when they get overtaken by a clown on a rigid singlespeed.... It makes it fun. But I will never try beat you in a sprint finish or lose my manners to try stay or get ahead. I ride bikes because I love it, because it makes me smile, because it is a challenge. NOT to beat my neighbour or try to set a PB...
