[Event] Lights By Linea Road Race

Thanks for the update guys and clearing up my confusion.

Wait...

(1) This was posted in the "[Event] Lights By Linea Road Race" thread?

(2) There were Light By Linea boards and posters all around the start/finish?

(3) (Not sure about this) but same people organised it as the Lights by Linea winter league?

So why the "Guys PLEASE NOTE: YESTERDAYS RACE had NOTHING to do with LIghts By Linea! In no way or form!" comment?

Hi Andy they used the barriers from lights by linea which some still had the signage attached. Although under events Wayne decided to only sponsor the league events. Yes latrinus is involved in the lbl league series so it is easy to understand that something went wrong with yesterdays race in that the local municipality dropped the ball at the last minute and although latrinus has had many successful races in the past, these things do unfortunately happen but should not be a reflection of lights by linea as they only sponsor the lbl league races. I hope this clears things up.

Pity the time has now changed to 1pm.

Lights of Linea Race number 1 was 11am - so got all the manne ready for this Saturday's 11am start..

Because it's advertised as 1pm now, we'll have to cancel ;-(

Have a good race guys'n'gals.

yip, quite a bit of confusion yesterday. My 75km race ended with almost 90km on the clock.... Imagine my smile when my computer said 75km halfway up the first hill on polkadraai. Then entering Stellenbosch, the marshalls sent us through the main road into Stellenbosch and we ended up riding quite a bit through the streets of Stellenbosch looking for the finish line.... Needless to say, I was a bietjie bedonnerd when I finally met up with a couple of confused, red faced cyclists at a few orange cones next to the road resembling the finish line...

I didn't ride but I went for breakfast in Stellies, and there were Lights by Linea flag/banners up too :P *stir*

Thank you for this explanation and I'm sure you can understand the confusion. Unfortunately not everybody will read this and with Lights by Linea's apparent sponsorship (with the signage used) will be taken as such.

I've only heard great things about the winter league, but make sure then that the name is not tainted by unauthorised use.

Quick question about the cat 1 vs 2, etc.

Can I choose which one to ride? I don't want to be left out on the course with 159km out of 160km to go.
