Just be aware that you have to wear lycra and ballet shoes if you have a remote lockout on your handlebars.

It is against the rules of the baggy pant flat pedal brigade to have a lockout of any kind on your handlebars. :whistling: :whistling:

I find it very helpful having the remote lockout on the handlebars, being able to change bike geometry on the fly has really improved my riding, awesome for races and it doesn't get in the way at all. If you make it part of your riding and use it all the time you won't forget about it and automatically reach for it before a descent or climb. It's actually one of the reasons I bought the bike I did (Scott Spark 950 2013 model).

sorry I maybe worded it incorrectly.

I have lockout on my forks but thinking of putting the "switch" on my handle bars. Is it a good idea?

Compared to sticking your hand close to a moving spokes/tire on bumpy ground - yes, it's a great idea.

Imagine trying to coordinate suspension lock out and dropper post adjustment at the same time. :D

I have a new bike with a Fox fork and the lock out is on the top of the fork. Have I used it yet? No, other than to test that it works....

My old bike had the Reba with lockout on the bar. Did I use it? Yes, quite a bit...!

I guess if its there you will use it and if not you wont!!!

What doesn't work 100%? Could you elaborate? Have you checked the oil level in the damper? Was the lockout threshold adjuster in the max or min position when the XLOC was bled?

My two XX forks needed bleeding out of the box but they lock out and perform flawlessly.

To the OP... for years I've liked lockout on the fork crown and used it on smooth climbs, but with the XX forks I love the lockout on the bar, even though it's heavier and taking up space on the bar - only downside is when turning the bike upside down you have to put a towel or fixture under the grips so the lockout lever won't get scratched...
