MAYBE JUST BORROWED IT and took it for a spin and put it back in the garage before the boss got home, and is NOW THINKING about selling it because SOMEONE(slowbee) OFFERED HIM CASH :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Great minds think alike. Hahaha

Once caught our garden engineer on my race machine. When confronted he said no I just went to the shop for cigarettes.

More importantly are you going to have the guy arrested for dealing in possible stolen goods? It's great the deed you are doing but at the end of the day the guy selling this bike which more then likely is not his should be arrested and sent to jail.

Unless the oke unknowingly bought it from someone else who had stolen it, thinking he was buying a legit bike. Meanwhile the criminal is long gone.

I dont think you can just have the guy arrested for suspecting that he has a stolen bike. You can ask the police to check the serial numbers to see if it is indeed a stolen bike but then again not many people report the serial numbers of their stolen bikes to the police. Maybe the previous owner gave the bike to the guy and now you want to have him arrested because you suspect that its stolen............

If you want to have this guy arrested because you suspect that the bike is stolen then we must have Slowbee arrested for buying suspected stolen goods.

Ideally yes (assuming the bike was stolen), but then I would need to prove ownership of the bike. As the bike is not mine, on what grounds do I lay a charge ?

OK.

Will still throw out a couple of lines. This is in the S/West area, right?

Yea, but could well be from anywhere, the chain slap protector was from Willie Engelbrecht cycles. Don't worry there are a few other identifiers on the bike as well.

You still are not allowed to be in possession of stolen goods, even if you don't know where its originally come from, its up to you to find out what you are buying ain't stolen as far as I know.

"Little Willie" opened his own shop after WEC went bust the 2nd time. Maybe he could be of help. (just not sure what the name of his shop is  )

Many people get arrested on suspicion, if he has nothing to hide then he will have nothing to worry about. I would rather have a thief off the streets if he turns out to be one. If he had bought the bike from someone else not knowing, then it was up to him to find out.

This is a conundrum!

The "thief" will get some $$$ for the bike...and walk away to get himself another one!! Affirmative shopping...

As much as i would like to have the said bike...what is this "thief" going to learn from the excercize??

- stealing pays???

Last time i breached such a topic here..the uber Hubbers grilled me for being all sorts of things...

Who ever lost the bike probably claimed it from insurance already and moved along. I know quite a few people that would simply not try to find a stolen bike to get the insurance pay-out, especially if it still has 26 inch wheels on.
