Not sure if I want my new wheels to go on a gravel road, even if it's just for a short bit.

_Daemon_, I would suggest you pull out that old 15kg bike and do the gravel section on it and then up Hekpoort have a mate follow you and do a bike swap just before the climb and use the full carbon bike. A little bit of Roubaix.

Just to let you know you will be ascending Hekpoort before going up the gravel road section. The organisers designed the route this way as it is safer for all cyclists to go up the gravel section instead of flying down there at high speeds.

Epoh I will be there, hopefully in time to start with the majority of A

bunch this time and not get left trailing at the back. Sounds like a

killer route so can't promise I will at the front the entire time, but

if I make it into the start pen on time I can hopefully do a few turns

and help you out!

Cool man, I got my SMS just now and I am seeded in A. As I said before it is going to be a very strategic race and I reckon the teams will keep on attacking until someone gets away eventually. Maybe time to form an alliance :-P

I am thinking of cycling from my house which is about 12km from Monto to get a decent warm up. Hopefully I don't burn myself out before the start heh!

I also just got the sms. Also starting AL at 6h50. I am 8km from Monte

so was also thinking about a short warm up ride, but I could be

commiting serious Hara-Kiri if I do that.

 

 

 

More worried about the 8km back home all the way up Witkoppen after the

race. Anyways I will see you at the start - nice and early!

 

 

 

Maybe I should invest in joining TCS as well, then we can start a gang of sorts!
