Taking a bit of a long shot here but coming from Cape Town with rental vehicle etc our logistics are an absolute mess - was wondering if any of you kind hubbers may have space for a bike (or two) and if possible the riders as well from Drakensville to the start of the Great Trek on Tue morning? Riders shouldn't be too much hassle to sort out....the bikes are a bit of a problem though.

Check with the organisers, think there is a shuttle from drakensberg to the start for the people taking the airport shuttle, there might just be space.

Was just noodling around the BnB site and I see the third day of the Great Trek is 25k shorter than the Descent.

Is this right?

Yup. great trek day 2 and 3 are different to the descent. Descent day 3 is Great Trek day 2. Think Greak Trek then does Spionkop On day 3, but with out going into the reserve and doing the boat crossing. Its one of the reasons I chose the descent, wanted the same awesome route we did last year.

lol, me too I don't see too well in the dark 29m may not be long, but it's long enough for me to see my behind properly .

I am on the 2day.. so lets home it's the Trek guys getting the tunnel.

Looking nice but lekker hot. Nothing like last year it seems at the moment. 1 week forecasts are prone to change though.
