Ask one of the Pinarello agents to check the serial number on the frame. They should be able to check if the frame came from a Pinarello factory or is registered on their database using the serial number.

Check serial number, would seem to be the easiest give away for me, if its genuine you should be able to track it to a Pinarello manufacturer. Probably only way to be sure, either that or cut the frame in half and check the layup

And that children is how daddy met your other daddy...

What do the hub experts say...pinarello or chinarello?

Does it matter? Ride/weight/just about everything most of us would notice should be close to the same. Just dont buy it for lots of money.

Where is that on the bike? could not see anything under the BB area of the frame! My Scott Mtb only had a sticker which has come off from all the washing- so it could also be that the sticker was removed! I don't know

1. My Prince does have a round seatpost

2. Serial number should be on the bottom of the BB - agents were able to check it and confirm for me before I bought mine second hand - if they arent sure I would err on the side of caution towards chinna

I don't think the Chinese got to making fakes of the Prince. They copied the Dogma quite extensively, but I have never heard of the Prince being copied.

One tell tail sign of a copied Dogma is the round seat post. The original seat post was not round. This one has a round seat post, but I'm not sure if the Prince comes with a round seat post or not.

The newer frames have the same seatpost like dogma's. What you could notice was at the part where the rear brake caliper sits, so from the seatpost area to the start of the rear stays. The original dogma was rounded(curve) the Chinese Copy is straight!

My Paris has a serial number sticker under the BB which is under the frames clear coat, so there is no way for it to come off. I'm sure they would have done the same on the Prince.

Looks to be one of the older Princes.About 3 years old.

I have seen copies of the Dogma that the dealers couldn't tell if they were real or not.Only when they were sent back to the factory did the the quality control guys say they were fakes. They picked up minute differences in the paint used.

You can even get Colnago if you look at the right places.
