What annoys me is that when people talk about great SA cyclists Greg's name is hardly mentioned. How many medals do you have to win at worlds or how many times do you have to be world champion to be great? All we hear about is Robert"I have more lip than legs" Hunter.Give Greg the credit that is due as SA's greatest cyclist.

Well said Strings, the man rocks! And besides being second to Nico isn't bad at all, wasn't he the first rider to actually beat him at Worlds?

Hey dont knock the roadies, who have achieved lots in the Tour of Qatar, Langkawi and .... hmmm.... Giro del Capo

Greg is a legend. And what makes him even more so, is that he doesn't let the lack of recognition and support get to him. He just gets out there, and does his stuff. We could all learn from him.

While we're on riders and not being mentioned, why do we never here anything about Ian McLeod, I know that he's part of Fran?aise des

Jeux and that he's probably a domestique (I've never seen his name near the leaders on in the results sheets),  but that's it...?

i agree that grreg is one of sa's unsung heroes and deserves a lot more support and recognition from seffrikens than he gets. he is a true champ.

what makes him even more of a legend is that he markets among other products his own "GM" belt buckle......smiley4.gif

Hey Gummy. No one is knocking the roadies, its just that guys like Greg are often forgotten...

Ian McLeod seems to have taken a while to get back into shape and onto the Grand Tour team roster. He is currently lying 162nd @ 0.57. David George (RSA) Relax-Gam 170th @ 1.27. last rider (189 @ 17:41 after 2 flat stages)
