Grebel Posted October 29, 2013 Share Just a note regarding the timing. there is only one accurate timing setup and that is a hardwired system between the start and finish line with a transponder for rider identification as well as split times if required. Problem is that with multiple start and finish points this becomes a logistical as well as a setting up nightmare. Trail tag seems to be the only workable solution at the moment from a cost perspective as well as a setting up perspective. There have been a few options looked at for the DH timing in KZN but all are expensive and would need financing. The wireless options are first prize. We know what and where we need to time it's just getting all those points to communicate.....
Nofearnofun Posted October 29, 2013 Share True. Guess I'll hold off on the email. On the trailtag thing. at the Dirtopia festival last year one of the riders got a bit too close to the timing beacon at the start of a stage before he was ready to go and it beeped. Super funny watching him try to do his helmet up toss a banana and put his sunnies on all in one motion to get going on the stage. That happened to me at the giba enduro except I was almost ready to roll.

I guess he didn't know you can just beep it again to deactivate , then beep again to start again.... Nofearnofun
