I currently own an Ionos. Love it. Great venting, great fit, looks sexy and our favorite doper used it, so can't o wrong there. If I were to buy a new helmet, I'd upgrade to the newer Aeon, purely to see what it's like.

There is a medium aeon on the hub for R1800. Awesome helmet. I have just bought one off the hub.

I bought the cheaper Giro Rift and it's awesome. Really nice fit, good ventilation and at just under R1000 god value for money.

I recently bought a Specialized S3 mtb helmet for under 2k from the Concept store in Melrose Arch.

 

UNBELIEVABLE helmet. Perfect fit, light & looks pretty cool.

 

Worth checking it out.

Have you had a look at the Cratoni helmets at the Ghost shop in Laser park JHB.

 

I tried one on and felt it was a better fit than the Sterling but I guess everyone has a different pip.

They had a bunch of them for 300 bucks the other day too... I'm sure there is still stock left. I got two road helmets and have to agree, awesome fit, light as hell and they look great... Made in Germany.
