I have tried the "wheelie" thing for a while now, today I had more time than before so decided to give it a go. On the 8th or 9th time put the front wheel down at a 90degree angle, tire burped and I fell my ass of at no speed at all. Bent rear derailer hanger, butttt managed to bend it back to very close to ????%.

Hang on your bars,

Keep your arms straight, feel the weight in your shoulders and lean back.

It will stop you pulling the bike skew, twisting the bars and better for balance.
