Did not get any at the starting blocks. Used the farmers gate.

 

 

 

 

Nope. But you can use a venue where there are more than ONE entrance and exit for the venue? No?

 

 

 

 

And I do WHAT with my plakkies when I start? I don't have my mom walking me to the start of every race to take my plakkies when I start.

 

 

 

 

 

This was...I repeat...WAS one of the top 10 races in the COUNTRY with THOUSANDS of entrants.

I don't think they even clocked ONE thousand entrants.........sad to say.....

 

 

 

We rode back to our home after the race with the bikes.

The short distance riders had it pretty seriously bad with heavy traffic. Trucks in particular.

 

On the 80 and 106 the traffic was perfect.

Nope. Just a guy that has had enough of the crappy service delivery at races. 20 years of racing does help to see what is good value for money.

Problem with us South Africans...we are so used to getting crappy service that it becomes a norm. And you dare not complain.....

So don't enter next year, if we assume you are correct in your listed points, then by logic the majority of entrants will agree with you. If the faults you list outweighs the R230 entry for the majority, then the number of entries should drop next year, if it does not, then the listed issues are worth putting up for the entry fee. You see, we as entrants dictate the success and prices of races.

 

I think the problem with us South Africans is that we like to complain, but don't like doing anything about it.

We love moaning about Cellular providers, DSTV, online bike shops, Insurance Companies etc.... I see it on the hub everyday, but we seem to forget that we CHOSE to use their services and have the choice not to do so. You are not a victim, you are a consumer.

I entered this event instead of the beast of the east ,because that was so poorly organized last year .Some of my comlaints were heard and this year was better .Road events are difficult to get a suitable venue and safety all at the same time .As long as they learn from this .For me it was not all that bad .I parked ,rode to the start ,got my batch ,rode ,dodged a harley davidson or two and also a CHOC rider or two ,finished and left .Home in PTA at 10h45.Compared to the Sungardens carousel race this was better

I did choose with my wallet. Didn't do Bestmed and rather did Beast. Beast had decent organization. Will do it again next year and not the Satelite.

We also got stuck in traffic there but most definitely saw a marshal directing traffic.

 

 

 

You have got to be joking on some points. There were toilets at various points all over the place. While the finish was not perfect and would've been better on the main road, the venue as a whole was much better than last year. At least we didn't have to dodge two way motor vehicle traffic in the the last few km like last year.

I do not think Spinnekop is joking. He is very fair and knowledgeable.
