Yep, joberg is cool. I got a screw in my tyre as I left the office on Tuesday. Tyre was flat just as I got next to the taxi rank in Sauer street. Only one "dodgy" character approached and was quickly chased away by a taxi driver. A dude in a small truck stopped and came running to assist. I have no clue how to fit my tool kit back under the passenger seat or spare wheel under the car as I never got them out in the first place because all I did was stand back and chill :-)

There's hope

You should post that here

This happens in Cape Town (Coastal Dwellers) so frequently that we dont find the need to post about it everytime. The fact that you felt the need to let others know you got some help, means it probably doesnt happen very often.. up north..

Thanks for that - awesome post!!

Lol - I purely said that in response to this "So with all the crap we get from the coastal dwellers, I found this impressive!"

I read that as, Coastal Dwellers arent as helpful as Joburgers, but I see now it could also be interpretted as JNB's having bad rep for not being helpfull, which i can believe I guess, hence the need for this topic.

If the latter applies, my apologies for drawing the comparison. I guess its important to show other Joburgers that being helpful is actually part of being human.

Totally love Jozi. Been working in the CBD for a decade and a half. Seen it go from a fear-inducing place to a bright, friendly and welcoming place. Never feel scared. Okay, there was time when Malema's mates wanted to pelt me with a brick, but that's another story...

Hahahahahahaha! It was at the time of Juju's DC, and the YL were protesting at Beyers Naude Gardens - they actually had set up stalls selling chicken, btw. Things got a bit heated and they pelted journalists and cops alike with whatever they could get their hands on. The next day, the had drawn up posters saying sorry to journalists, so we all hugged and made up...
