what really p's me off is how it's the people who bith and moan the most when they are the victim of law being broken are the ones who maintain that they don't need to abide by the law "because no one else does". DO NOT cry when the wheel turns and your bad behaviour bites you in the arse.

ControlC - I never overheat ....

Noembus - We are not trying to rule the world, we just want people to follow the rules that are in place. If you think it's OK for a guy to take a gap at a red traffic light (they are NOT robots) and live with the consequences then it also has to be OK for your average lout to murder. rape and steal and live with the consequences of his actions.

so you putting jumping a red robot in the same drawer as rape and murder? Confused breaking a law is breaking a law?!!

so is jay-walking, cutting a roundabout short, taking a blanket from the airline and taking the newspaper out of the docotrs waiting room....

everyone does his little law braking. for me you have to differ though. but in any case: brake the law and accept punishment if it happens after and don't complain!

(there's no robot on my way to office, only stop streets - often my two wheels don't come to a stillstand, cause there's no one around....I know I am braking the law!)

Legend, either you are pregnant or you aren't pregnant. either you are law abiding or you aren't law abiding. the law is the law and until it changes deal with it. who are you to decide which laws are more important? the taxi drivers think there was nothing wrong with what they did to those poor girls who wore short skirts because in their opinion the girls were being disrespectful... what makes your views and opinions more important than theirs? (that is using your argument of you get to decide which laws need to be enforced and which don't)

I don't think E1A104 places the two crimes in the same drawer as you put it. I think he is rather commenting that the law is the law, and if you break it, you should be prepared and willing to accept the consequences.

I don't know what gives you the impression that I make my opinions more important than anyone elses and what law is more important.

I am just stating that there are these little laws brakings (endless list) EVERYONE does, has done and will do!

What I say that in my humble opinion (!!) a rape or murder case for example should be attended to with more effort and strictness than someone walking over a red light when no car or whatever is approaching.

I'm luckily not pregnant!

well, I understood it different but as stated in my posts agree to what you say and what you think is his statement.

Legend, just because most taxis drive the way they do doesn't make it right - so your argument that "there are these little laws brakings (endless list) EVERYONE does, has done and will do" sucks. the law is the law and as long as people don't respect the laws based on when THEY think it's a "little" law then we will continue to suffer the scourge of lawlessness that we do in SA.

ClapI couldn't agree more. I bore all my friends to death with this particular stance, mainly because I don't back down on this issue, and also cause I wont shut-up about it.

Some people seem to lack a brain on this hub and make statements for other people (eventhough those people never made these statements) ... it's an opinion ... take it / leave it / comment on it ... don't CHANGE it!!

As if NOT skipping a RED traffic light 'safely' is gonna turn this world into a better place! SA has more to worry about cyclist skipping RED traffic lights!

If you are dumb enough to bring yourself or other people in danger while skipping a RED traffic light you deserve to get hit by a car or being fined ... just use your common sense ... oh forgot ... many here are lacking that!
