No excuse for a shoddy online purchasing system. If you cannot get the pricing right, I dont even want to think of what else might be an issue at the same time.

Isn't that technically illegal? Don't you have to sell at a price that something is officially advertised for under consumer regulations? Any consumer lawyers out there comment on the rule of offer and acceptance... I know it's like that in Aus ' and the UK. Price it wrong & you have to sell it.

 

I had that argument at a PnP recently with a fillet that was Priced @ R50 when the rest were waaay more. Explained the point and got the fillet. ;)

 

Difficult one. To an extent, advertised prices are covered by the CPA, however if it's a genuine mistake - as the R0.00 offer would appear to be - it does not have to be honoured.

 

Bait marketing, which has been pointed out before is also covered by the CPA. Adjusting the quoted RRP is, while an unsavoury practice, not covered by this legislation. It is known as a "fake sale". Nothing you can do about it. Does damage the image of the approved or official importer as it's a subjective claim and not based on any real benchmark.
