Dark horse 38mm test ride

Hi all,

 

I have contacted dark horse about arranging a test ride of their wheels in joburg, however they are unable to assist.

 

I have ridden a 50mm clincher set before and wasn't very impressed - there was a lot of flex in the wheel.

 

Is there anyone in joburg that would let me test ride a set? I'm concerned about the flex in the wheel and I want to try them out first

All things being equal, would a 38mm wheel not flex more than a 50mm.?

The Darkhorse appeal is in their specified weights - sub 1400g - vs price.

Most others are 1600 - 1700g, or more expensive.

But they need to be stiff too.

Contact the guy from Concept wheels, I know he lend some wheels out for test ride, and the rider was impressed and bought.

It is very difficult for us to arrange demo rides for all inquiries but if you have doubt to the quality of our wheels just follow the upcoming Tour of Rwanda and you will see Nico Thiart riding for South Africa with a set of our 38mm clinchers. And I can guarantee if the wheels were in anyway inferior to the top name brands he would not been using them.

So thought I'd resurrect this thread and say that those 38mm clinchers really do look a good bet.

Has anyone ridden with them since this topic was last visited in November?
