Specific bike brands and dealers

I get that small bike shops won't be able to stock a wide range of brands, but is it possible for your LBS to get for example a Titan if they aren't generally a dealer or is it like going to Audi to buy an Audi, not asking Hyundai to get you one?

Solomons can get you anything ,even 2015 models

It depends on the shop. Sometimes they can get you on if you need. A lot of them are brand specific. What you looking for? The new cycle lab (pro shop ) mega store has quite a few brands

My local independant guy says if you want it he can get it. Which I've had no cause to disbelieve over the years.

I'm not after anything fancy, i just prefer to support the small independant guys where possible, and i saw a titan that quite strikes my fancy.

I'll speak to my local guys see if they want to help me spend my year end bonus (fingers crossed)

Titan bikes are available through every bikes store in SA. Some dealers just keep more than others but almost every dealer should have, or get you what you need

I found that requesting a specific bike (make and model) from a LBS sometimes increase your bargaining power......works well at Cajees if you know what you want and have done your RRP research.

 

Post pic once you have your new ride.

I think some dealers have the sole right to sell certain brands in certain areas.

 

For example, in Kimberley, there is two dealers and some of the bike brands you can only buy at one of the two.

Yip, just think how " unfair" it would have been if BuyCycle stocked all the brands and models at "competitive" low prices....you order and it gets delivered to your front door.

hahaa yeah - it's addictive ... do want to plan more biking getaways - and I want a new bike dammit!!!!

my lbs has a leaning towards specialized - which I can't afford - and Silverback - which I don't like :-(

if it's not worth their while to get it then I'll pop in to cycle hub - then got some good prices there.

I'm still window shopping though, still sniffing around for some 2013 deals.
