Puffadder has an extremely painful bite, not fatal in most cases but you suffer for about a week. In terms of behavior, they're pretty lazy snakes, won't move out the way when you approach, this makes them less aggressive, but they do have the fastest strike speed (as far as I know fastest in the world but it might only be Africa), can strike a balloon twice before it pops!
