Hi Guys,

I need help finding a cheap good value entry level MTB. I thought of the Trek 3500. I probably will use the bike on the road and off. I don't intend to do anything too hectic.

I think its shimano tourney components? Also it has V-breaks?

I would welcome any other suggestions.

THANKS!

You might be surprised how quickly you go from "I dont want to try anything hectic" to "Damn Ive got to give that a shot".

This mountainbike thing has a habit of growing on you quickly and, if you can afford it, you might be better off buying a more capable bike.

This.

I started off on a bike with Altus and v-brakes thinking it would last me a year at least. I upgraded within 5 months.

Tourney parts are real low end. They won't last. I wouldn't buy it. There are plenty of other, better quality bikes out there. What is your budget? Do you want new or second hand.
