Policy on selling items via a profile?

What is The Hub's policy regarding selling items via the forums, for example the way that some clothing suppliers advertise their products on various pages (i.e. Roost)? Is permission required first, is there a fee involved, or can we just create a profile for the product and post it? If so, are we required to post it in a specific thread? I can't find any clear guidelines on the site.
