Jip is def possible with that frame, that is an awesome colour.

Why not build it yourself?

All you need is a few bits and bolts

yes you can

Strip everything off if complete bike, shifters, FD, RD, cassette.... otherwise fit everything else excluding those items.

Use the existing crank, (not sure whether 2 blade or 3 blade) and fit a 32T chainring (is what most start with), if 2 blade then the small chainring bolts will be ok, else if a 3 blade crank then you will need short chainring bolts which you can get from your LBS.

Install a SS cog (16T or 18T) in place of the cassette http://www.rapide.co...d-Sprocket.aspx or http://www.bikebits....g.aspx?cid=1228, your LBS may also have the spacer kit

You will probably need to fit a tensioner, this one comes with the spacer kit and cog http://dialdbikes.co...ersion-kit.html

The crank chainring and rear cog need to be in perfect line, otherwise chain will come off cog. (use a straight piece of wood or something as by eye is often not good enough to get perfectly straight)

refit chain shortening as far as possible and take up any slack using the tensioner.

finish the beer, sit back and enjoy your handy work... then go ride!!

you just let me know when bud.

Myself and rouxtjie live opposite each other in a complex in Northriding near fourways and between our two garages we have built up 5 SSer and we have all the tools, bits'n'pieces and fridges. your welcome to pull through here for an afternoon. Maybe we can convince Mrs rouxtjie to cook us her famous Tatoe skins and tan a chop.

Hope you finished this build? JC and Routjie helped me a lot with advice on my build. I've done almost a 1000 no nonsense km's on her since then. Must say, I do enjoy the SS fraternity. :-)
