PoiZoNouZ Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Did 45km on it this weekend, very cool. Climbs lekker, but can get a bit scary when going down very fast. On tech sections its so stable makes it feel very safe.

ThanksI had slx shifters and a rear Derailer from a previous conversion. I changed the rear cassette and chain and it worked 100%. The cassette fitted on the free body to the mm. I also changed the brakes to XT which has also helped as the bike is a lot heavier to stop. The bike is now nicely specced and is great fun.

So no changes needed to the freehub or front chainring or deraileur then? Agreed on the brakes, these fatties doesn't stop easily. Upgraded to SLX rotors already, but I'm also looking at better calipers, was just not sure if it would make such a big difference? Nice mudguard btw!

Have ridden on my brother's Salsa Mukluk in Kamloops BC. But unless I move to Canada or Swakopmund, don't see myself buying one.
